At the Root Arts is taking on the challenge of doing a musical in a week this Summer. We are very proud to present FROZEN KIDS as our show this year.
Do you want to build a snowman? Designed for elementary school students, Frozen KIDS is a 30-minute adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical, which was based on the 2013 Walt Disney Animation Studios film, written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. The production features all of the songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and EGOT-winner Robert Lopez.
You’ll love this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. This production of Frozen KIDS is sure to prove that “some people are worth melting for.”
About Musical in a Week
Our Musical in a Week programme will run from 13th July to 17th July 2026 with rehearsals taking place daily at the Canon Hoban Hall in Broxburn 10am-4pm. The performances will be on Friday 17th July at 7pm and Saturday 18th July 2pm at the Canon Hoban Hall in Broxburn.
The programme is for children who love to sing, dance, act, and want the opportunity to perform during the Summer holidays with all their friends. Auditions will be on 19th & 20th April 2026 at Forestbank Community Centre. There will be two workshop days further to this on Sunday 3rd May and Sunday 7th June 10am-4pm each day. Behind every awesome show there is an awesome crew! Be part of our FROZEN Kids crew - help build the set, make props, do the make up, decide on costumes, and more! Crew times are 10am-4pm from Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July, with the show being on Friday 17th July 7pm and Saturday 18th July 2pm.
