At the Root Arts CIC is a creative arts organisation committed to working in the grass roots of communities to provide high-quality, engaging and meaningful weekly workshops, projects and events.

We aim to create spaces for different communities to come together and be creative in collaborative and safe spaces. We aim to amplify and empower the voices of different communities, people and places through the creative arts.

Our Core Values

We embed fairness, kindness and inclusion in our practice. We believe that the arts are for everyone. Our workshops and projects create spaces where participants can fully be themselves, grow in confidence and make new friends.

Our approach to the creative arts is collaborative, curious and playful. We create spaces where participants take agency and ownership in the performances they make and share. In our workshops, we are responsive to what the group wants to do. We are not a one size fits all organisation, we tailor make projects and workshops to suit the participants and groups.

At the Root Arts CIC exists as a platform for communities and participants to play, make and grow through participating in the creative arts.

We exist to:

Champion local people and stories in safe, creative and inclusive spaces.
Promote positive mental and physical wellbeing through the creative arts.
Celebrate, challenge and explore the world around us using theatre, music, storytelling and the wider creative arts.
