At the Root Arts CIC is an arts organisation based in West Lothian working to amplify and empower the voices of different communities, people and places through the creative arts.
Roots on Stage is At the Root Arts' performance programme including new writing, showcases, musicals and devised productions. There are lots of exciting and engaging opportunities to perform with ATR Arts throughout the year including our Monday Stage Club, annual musical and our 16-25 production company.
What's coming up? We have lots of exciting performances coming up in 2026/27 including Rapunzel (December 2026), Ghosted at Christmas (December 2026), The Last Bus Home (June 2027) and Matilda Jr (August 2027). Performing in a show is an exciting, beneficial and memorable experience that helps you grow in confidence, develop new skills, make new friends and gain an immense sense of achievement. Our unique style of producing shows has made us known as one of the fastest growing places of performance in West Lothian.
Take part in our 2027 production of Matilda Jr! After the success of Frozen Kids, we are delighted to announce that we are bringing Matilda Jr to the stage in August 2027 as our annual musical.
The show will be on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 August at the Broxburn Canon Hoban Hall with rehearsals being from Monday 2 August alongside monthly workshops in 2027. Auditions are 14 & 15 November 2026.
