RootSpace is our core programme of regular workshops for children and young people aged 4-18.

The aim of 
RootSpace is to create a space where participants grow in confidence, develop new life skills and meet new friends in a fun, creative and positive environment. Our ethos is to facilitate kind, positive and engaging spaces where participants can thrive and fully be themselves.

Our 
RootSpace workshops take place across West Lothian in different venues and throughout the week, including everything in drama, music, crafts and more. Get involved! We offer free trials at our Root
Space workshops and would love to see you along!

RootSpace hosts regular drama workshops in communities across West Lothian, including Blackburn, Livingston and Mid Calder. Our drama workshops are run by an enthusiastic, trained and professional team of workshop leaders and assistants who all have PVGs and a first aider is present at every class.

Build Confidence
Our drama workshops aim to create spaces where participants grow in confidence, be themselves and build self-belief.

Make & Perform
One of the most popular elements of drama is performance! In our weekly classes their are opportunities every term to show back what they've been learning.

Have Fun
Our drama workshops are fun, positive and joyful spaces to make new friends, learn new skills and make memories.

RootSpace hosts regular music workshops in communities across West Lothian. Our music workshops are run by an enthusiastic, trained and professional team of workshop leaders and assistants who all have PVGs and a first aider is present at every class.

New Skills
Our music workshops offer participants the opportunity to learn new skills such as singing and instruments in a supported and creative session.

Be Musical
Learning music has lots of benefits in the real: it is stress relieving, enhances concentration, and is a universal language everyone can understand.

Be Sustainable
Our craft workshops promote working with reusable and sustainable items. We want to reduce waste, and turn what is considered rubbish into art!

Be Creative
Our craft workshops are your chance to be your full creative self - make anything from plant pots to houses to marble runs... what will you make?

LITTLE SPROUTS

0-2 year olds
Our programme for babies and their grown ups. Focuses on building bonds, storytelling and music to help growth in the earliest stages of life.

CREATIVE
BEANS

3-5 year olds
Our programme for pre-school children encourages play, sharing and skill development in fun and creative classes.

At RootSpace, we understand that each age group has unique needs and interests. That’s why we created specialised programmes tailored for children of different ages, ensuring they receive right support and guidance as they grow. Our activities and resources are designed to foster learning and development in a fun nurturing environment. Join us in helping your child thrive at every stage their journey!

PIONEERS

5-7 year olds
Our programme for children in P1-P3 is playful, curious and fun for children in the early stages of school

FORAGERS

8-11 year olds
Our programme for children in P4-P7 helps to develop new creative skills, gives opportunities to showcase talent and make new friends.

YOUNG
COMPANY

12-18 year olds
Our programme for young people aged 12-18 enables participants to develop skills, find their specialism and take agency in their creativity.
